We undertook a reconfiguration of the second-floor layout in this home to fulfill the family's vision of an ideal primary suite. Originally, the second floor had only one bathroom serving all the bedrooms. However, since the guest bedroom and their child's room were situated on this floor, they desired an additional bathroom. Apart from the extra bathroom, the family expressed the desire for a private primary suite that included not just a bathroom but also a small office nook or sitting area. To achieve this, we removed the wall between their underutilized office and the primary bedroom. By doing so, we were able to expand the space, providing ample room.
We remodeled both the existing second-floor bathroom and their new primary suite bathroom. In the existing bathroom, we changed the layout to allow it to feel more open and utilized a beautiful shade of pink paint with black and white tile to give it a traditional yet updated style. In their primary bathroom, we went with a dark green wall tile with a marble-look hexagon floor tile which is a more modern take on a traditional style.
